Fulfilling

My life is full

Filled to the brim

Overflowing

With bills yet unpaid

Dishes and laundry

Dirtied and washed

In endless cycle

With mouths to feed

Others and mine

And bathroom breaks

And potty mistakes

And clean up

And pick up

And sleeplessness

Calendars and appointments

Commutes and assignments

Checklists and to-do lists

Should-dos and could-dos

Social feeds

Notifications

Ding

A new email

Ding

A new text

Bark

Someone at the door

Ding

News alert

Ring

A call

Ring them back

Bling, ring

Dress for the thing

Some or other Shin-

Dig to attend

To

Sometimes

It feels I'm

Drained

To the last drop

Dry of

Rest

Calm

Peace

Unscripted

Deliberate

Time

Clarity

Intention

Those things

And the things

I'm reclaiming

But most of all

I want my life full

Filled to the brim

Overflowing with

Truth

Trust

Direction

Connection

Growth

Spirit

Above all

Love

Sometimes

I feel lonely

Unloved, uncared for

But that's not

The truth

The truth is

I'm loved, cared for

As a start

If by no one else

On any given day

Then by me

I love and care for me

And in so doing

I invite you

To love and care for you

And we invite us

To love and care for us

Sometimes

I feel alone

Solitary, on my own

And that's a

Question of trust

The trust is

Found when

As a start

I begin with me

If no one else

On any given day

Trusts me, but me

I trust me

And in so doing

I invite you

To trust you

And we invite us

To trust us

Sometimes

I feel isolated

Living somewhere remote

And that's a

Question of direction

Where am I

And where do I

Want to go

Anyway?

Maybe

I want to be

With me

Maybe I want to be

With you

We were born

On this earth

Each with a compass

Of our own

And so

My life

If fulfilled

If overflowing

Will probably

Go something

Like this:

Truth

Bills

Trust

Laundry

Direction

Dishes

Connection

Meals

Growth

Bathroom

Spirit

Clean up

Pick up

To do

Love
